摘要:
单光子发射计算机断层成像(single photon emission computed tomography,SPECT) 和正电子发射断层成像(positron emission tomography,PET)是一种重要的功能性医学成像技术。其功能在于研究疾病产生过程和追踪器官中放射性标记同位素,可用于早期癌症筛查、疾病病理学研究、指导新药开发。目前使用的SPECT和PET系统大部分是以晶体闪烁体作为介质的晶体探测器。基于液氙的探测技术是一种新型的粒子探测技术,液氙中可以同时产生闪光和电离两种信号,液氙探测技术通过光信号和电荷读出相结合性能大大超过了传统的晶体探测器的性能。我们综述了近年来液氙探测技术在医学成像实验中的研究进展。
Abstract:
Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) are functional medical imaging technique with increasing importance. They can investigate the process of disease formation and trace radio-labeled molecules in organs. SPECT and PET imaging can be used for early cancer screening, studying the pathology of illness, and guiding the development of new drugs.The SPECT and PET systems in use today are mostly based on crystal scintillators as detection media. The detection technology based on liquid Xenon is a new kind of particle detection technology.Scintillation light and ionization signals can be produced simultaneously in liquid Xenon.The performance achieved by combining both scintillation light and ionization charge readout significantly exceeds the capabilities of conventional crystal based detectors. We paper review the development and applications of liquid Xenon detectors in medical imaging experiments in recent years.
